Hi There...
As a believer in Jesus Christ (aka Bigs Jesus/aka Big J), and your friendly neighborhood neurodiverse girly (that's a tool we'll use later) I want to welcome you to HVNBLT. This roll out has been a year long odyssey born out of making flyers for my mother's companies, social media content at work, and many hours of hyper focusing. The Lord put in me this deep desire for fashion, and it wasn't until a period of isolation ("The Wilderness" if you will) that my interest in fashion went from personal exploration to kingdom glorification. Needless to say, it's been a journey.
HVNBLT was born in my mother's living room in the middle of nowhere in upstate New York in June of 2024. She had an idea for a design, and like the little creative I am I made the shirt design on Canva (in less than a day). The name for the clothing company rolled out of my mouth and her response was, "I like that!" in a way that only my mother could say it. Thus the seed was planted. During that time I had no employment because Bigs Jesus told me to move and isolated me (there's that "Wilderness" again). I was in a position where I had to rely completely on him. Whenever I wasn't volunteering, cleaning, gyming, praying, or making flyers, I was designing these things in Canva that I didn't think I would ever do anything with. I would just sit and hyper-focus while the Holy Spirit gave me phrases and led me to verses to base my designs off of. Thus the name "Verseshirts" was born! (Please read in PowerPuff Girls intro voice) Fast forward a year and one sample ordered later and we're here. One sample was all I could afford then but now we have enough to have a photo shoot to launch the brand. God has been faithful.
The point of these blog posts isn't for me to come up here and act all sanctimonious (I have a podcast for that). I want buyers to know that this started from humble beginnings. In the bedroom of an unmarried girl with 2 cats trying to get her life together wondering how she's going to eat this week. It started small. The size of a mustard seed. The goal of these blog posts is to have you, the buyer, feel as apart of the brand as you really are.
One day I may go into detail about how God has moved since last year concerning this thing. But for now, I want you to know that I'm regular. Trying to be obedient, open, honest, and transparent. Trying to build community. Because honestly... we need each other. And if anyone hasn't told you today, I need you. We all do.
